CLEARFIELD – A 47-year-old man will serve up to 12 years in state prison following his guilty pleas to multiple charges including aggravated assault by vehicle, and driving under the influence of fentanyl. John Moore was sentenced in Clearfield County Court on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Moore caused a severe two-vehicle crash on Route 322 in Bradford Township while driving under the influence of various drugs. Moore’s vehicle reportedly crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, slammed head-on into another vehicle, and caused serious injuries, including a broken foot, leg, and ribs to the driver. That victim gave a tearful appeal before Judge Frederic Ammerman this week, explaining how the accident and injuries has impacted her life.
Ammerman sentenced Moore to serve 33 months to 12 years in state prison, and he must pay more than $2,500 in restitution to the victim.
