Jefferson County teen hurt in crash with deer

PERRY TWP. – A Jefferson County teenager was injured when a car he was riding in hit a deer just before Christmas.

According to State Police, Daniel Patterson of Punxsutawney was driving west on Route 536 in Perry Township when a deer ran onto the road, hit the front end of Patterson’s vehicle, and rolled back the passenger side breaking a side window. A 13-year-old Punxsy teen was sleeping with his head against the shattered window, and he reportedly suffered a laceration to his forehead.

The teen was treated for his injuries at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Patterson and another passenger were not injured in the mishap.
