DUBOIS – The DuBois Area High School will feature its annual holiday concert on Thursday, December 14th at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium.
Melinda Swauger, the Director of Bands, and Nicholas Kloszewski, the Director of Choirs, have worked with students for months in preparation for the annual holiday concert. This seasonal event is free and open to the public. The students will be performing an array of seasonal songs including Sleigh Ride, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas Is Here, The First Noel, Santa Baby, My Favorite Things, Deck the Halls, and A Holly Jolly Christmas, among many more.
In the past, the students have performed their holiday concert virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The resilience of the students and staff is displayed through a desire to provide the public with a cheerful start to their festive season. The concert band, jazz band, concert choir, and select choir will serenade the audience on Thursday. “Students are involved from one minute to the last minute,” noted Swauger. A majority of students are versatile in their involvement with both band and choir. Swauger appreciates their dedication to learning the music and practicing continually over the past few months. The community is encouraged to participate as the holiday concert is free and open to the public. Swauger commented, “We love to have the public come and enjoy the sounds of the season and hope to see many people in the audience.”
