CLEARFIELD – Five Clearfield County men accused of assaulting and robbing a Hyde man have completed their preliminary hearings’ process.
Clearfield Regional Police filed charges against 39-year-old John Irwin of DuBois, 35-year-old Taylor Wisor and 43-year-old Jason Sipe of Hyde; 34-year-old Paul Hoyt of Curwensville; and 46-year-old Bradley Maines of Woodland.
All five are alleged to have been involved in attacking the man with baseball bats, and then stealing his pickup truck and clothes. One of the five defendants reportedly told investigators that they targeted the victim because they wanted to steal drugs from him.
Irwin and Sipe both waived their preliminary hearings. Irwin is in the Clearfield County Jail with bail set at $100,000. Sipe is currently free after posting $150,000 bail. Both Hoyt and Maines are incarcerated with their bail set at $150,000 each. Wisor waived his right to a preliminary hearing, and he was freed from the county jail after posting $50,000 bail.
