MAYPORT – A Mayport man has been jailed after an investigation allegedly revealed that he sexually assaulted a minor in 2022.
Police say they began an investigation into 40 year-old Charles Powell after a victim came forward in April with a recording of Powell allegedly admitting to multiple encounters when she was younger.
On May 1st police spoke to the victim who claimed in November of 2022 Powell allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Powell is now being held at the Jefferson County Jail where he faces sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and corruption of minors charges.
