Patsy Jerome Mesoraco
1929-2026

Patsy Jerome Mesoraco, 97, of Delancey, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at AM/PM Personal Care Home.

He was born at home in DeLancey on March 24, 1929, a son of the late Frank Mesoraco and Helen (Bevak) Mesoraco.

Mr. Mesoraco is a United States Army Veteran that proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.

On August 20, 1960, he married his lifelong companion, Madgelene “Mickey” Kolson.  They would have soon celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary.

Patsy was a member of the former St. Adrian Catholic Church and most recently Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.

He was a man deeply loved by his family; his greatest joy came from the people closest to him. His life was filled with simple pleasures, strong family bonds and beautiful memories.

He previously worked at Berlin Metals and as a Foreman at the Jefferson County Housing Authority.

In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, teaching the players teamwork, determination and dedication.

A devoted sports fan, he loved going to baseball games and took special pride in watching his own grandchildren play sports, he never missed a chance to support them.

In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and woodworking.  One of Patsy’s favorite hobbies was carpentry. He took great pride in the fact that he constructed an addition to his house built solely by himself.  Many of his relatives and friends reached out quite often for Patsy’s help with their projects and Patsy never refused to share his time and skills!  Many have said that Patsy could fix or build anything.

Along with his wife Mickey, Patsy spent many hours decorating the outside of his family’s house for Christmas. He was as meticulous in his decorating as he was in his carpentry!  His display of Christmas lights was admired year after year by neighbors and friends!

In addition to his wife “Mickey” he is survived by two children, Douglas “Meats” (Laura) Mesoraco of Delancey and Jodi (Jim) Kachmar of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren, Kayla (Patrick) Hanley, Devin (Kira) Mesoraco, James “Jimmy” Kachmar and Jordan Mesoraco; six great grandchildren, Carson, Declan and Harper Hanley, Luke, Lily and Reid Mesoraco.

Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ralph and Samuel “Butch” Mesoraco.

Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at the Adrian-Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery, McCalmont Township, where military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.
