Clearfield-Lawrence Township Airport requests more funds

CLEARFIELD – The Director of the Clearfield-Lawrence Township Airport Authority continues to seek larger amounts of funding from both the borough and township budgets.

David Schultz encouraged Clearfield Borough Council members last week to consider allocating more than the $5,000 that is currently given to the airport. Schultz told council at their monthly meeting that the airport is an integral part of the infrastructure of the borough. He noted that if the airport doesn’t receive proper funding, it could potentially lose the emergency services of STAT MedEvac.

Schultz also extended an invitation to council members to attend the airport authority’s board meeting Tuesday so that the issue could be further discussed.

Schultz has also attended Lawrence Township Supervisors meetings in hopes of consideration for higher funding amounts for the airport.
