Bradford Township, PA – A woman was injured after driving too fast and crashing into the back of a vehicle hauling a trailing unit in Clearfield County.

20-year-old Kayleigh Fitzgerald from Grassflat had been driving on I-80 westbound near mile marker 122 on Wednesday morning.

State Police say she had been going too fast when she struck the trailing unit of a vehicle in front of her, a Freightliner Sprinter driven by a 39-year-old Texas man.

The man driving the other vehicle had been wearing a seat belt and was okay, with just some minor damage to the trailer.

Fitzgerald, however, had not been wearing her seat belt.

She hit her head off of the windshield of her vehicle. She was taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield with injuries of unknown severity.

Fitzgerald is charged with driving at an unsafe speed and not wearing a seat belt.
