UNDATED – Today is the deadline for Pennsylvania businesses to remove skill game machines from their premises.
The state Supreme Court ruled in June that skill games are considered slot machines under Pennsylvania law, making it illegal for unlicensed businesses to possess, operate, or maintain them.
Under the new requirements, simply unplugging the machines or temporarily disabling them does not comply and all machines and related equipment must be physically removed.
Now, State Police can seize machines and proceeds, file criminal charges, and pursue liquor license penalties.
