UNDATED – The defense team for former City of DuBois employee Roberta “Bobbie” Shaffer is asking to delay sentencing.
According to court documents, Shaffer’s attorney is looking to postpone the sentencing another 45 days to review the Presentence Investigation Report and determine whether to object to anything in it.
The defense also wants to wait until the sentencing of Shaffer’s co-defendant John “Herm” Suplizio as restitution in that case may impact Shaffer’s sentencing.
While the government has not objected to the delay, U.S. Judge Stephani Haines has not granted the request.
In May, Shaffer Pleaded guilty to counts 5 and 8 of the indictment, which include the theft or fraudulent misuse of more than $5,000 dollars in City of DuBois funds in 2021, and a fraudulent financial transaction of $28,000 dollars. Her original sentencing was scheduled for September 22nd
