PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney woman is facing theft charges after allegedly spending thousands of dollars on another person’s debit card.
On June 29th police began an investigation into 55 year-old Valerie Krolick after a victim stated Krolick allegedly used her debit card on online gambling without permission.
When investigating, police learned Krolick allegedly sent herself thousands of dollars over the past six months from the victim’s bank account.
When questioned Krolick allegedly told police she did not know that she stole from the victim at first, but when she noticed she tried to win the money back through gambling leading to around $3,400 dollars in stolen funds.
Krolick has now been charged with device fraud, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property.
