DUBOIS – Plans are coming together for this year’s Community Days in DuBois, with organizers promising a bigger more diverse event.
This year, all nine fire companies have been involved in planning with sponsorships filling up fast, including major support for fireworks and kids activities.
Co-Chair John Emmerich says that they are also looking at a wider mix of music, from country and classical to an 80s tribute band plus returning favorites like magicians, jugglers, and other family friendly acts.
They are also looking at changing the parade route to ease traffic and keep more roads open.
“To me, it’s just a special time for all of our families to get together as a community, celebrate the new city of DuBois, celebrate the fire department,” explained Emmerich. “Just a good, fun weekend of family and friends.”
This year marks the 33rd annual Community Days, continuing a tradition that dates back more than a century in DuBois.
