DUBOIS – Each year, over 700 local kids take to the field as participants in the DuBois Little League.

DuBois Little League Board President Scott Frano says that the organization has grown from just a handful of teams 75 years ago to over 40 teams today.

With baseball, softball, and Challenger Division programs engaging over 700 players for four consecutive years, Frano believes the league has become a cornerstone of the community.

“We know that it’s a center point of our community,” said Frano. “You drive by down Liberty Boulevard, and any night during the late spring and early summer, you see those lights on, it kind of brings back memories for everybody.”

Several DuBois all-star teams are currently competing in District 10 tournaments, while the city is also preparing to host major regional Little League events later this summer, which typically brings players and families from across the eastern United States to the area.
