John “Jack” Fitzpatrick, age 85 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Christ the King Manor.
Born on December 25, 1940 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Rachel (Pifer) Fitzpatrick.
On May 28, 1960, he married Marlene (Brazinski) Fitzpatrick. She preceded him in death on April 3, 1995.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Anderson and Kime Insurance in Ridgway. Previous to that, he worked for the Riverside Division of the Penn Traffic Company for 27 years. Jack enjoyed golfing and made many a friend and acquaintance on the golf course. He enjoyed visiting his friends at Wendy’s for lunch and had been an active supporter of DuBois Central Catholic for many years. Jack was catholic by faith and could be found at mass at either St. Joseph, St. Michael, or St. Catherine throughout his lifetime. He was also one of the founding board members of the Council of Human Dignity at St. Michael Terrace.
Above all, his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, were the most important thing in his life. Jack is survived by his children; Michele Burley and her husband Dave of Falls Creek, PA, Mary Kay Bolam and her husband Jim of DuBois, PA, and Joan Aaron and her husband Dave of Gaithersburg, MD, seven grandchildren; Renee, Megan, Zac, Patrick, John, Becki, and Tommy, twelve great-grandchildren, a sister; Patricia Keen and her husband Ron of Rockton, PA, and a brother; William Fitzpatrick and his wife Joanne of DuBois, PA. He was preceded in death by his sister ; Mary Wray, and two brothers; Wiley and Lawrence Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10 a.m. from Holy Spirit Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant. Full military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
