DUBOIS – DuBois city officials say bonuses for city employees, council members or staff will not be happening under the current administration.
The issue came up during Wednesday’s council meeting after a resident questioned whether bonuses were still being paid, with City Manager Joe Fleming rejecting the notion.
“This administration would never authorize or even recommend bonuses to employees, council or staff,” Fleming said. “That practice may be historic, may be documented, but during this administration it will never happen.”
City Solicitor Jason Sabol also said certain bonuses for municipal employees are illegal under Pennsylvania law, calling the issue a “dead” matter.
