DUBOIS – DuBois lawmakers had a look at the 2027 preliminary budget, with no proposed tax increases or utility service charges.
City Manager Joe Fleming told us that the budget process is difficult as the consolidated City of DuBois has had less than one fiscal year, but his main plan is be conservative. Keeping spending responsible while maintaining essential services and paying down debt.
“So we need to ensure that we’re being conservative, that we’re going to be hitting our numbers for 27, and making sure that the residents still see the quality of services moving forward,” explained Fleming.
The proposed budget totals around $32 million dollars, and will keep the tax rate at 13 mills.
