BROOKVILLE – Several improvement and beautification projects are moving forward in Brookville as the Borough looks to upgrade parks, improve walkability, and boost tourism.
Borough Manager Dana Rooney says plans for Longview Park include a new amphitheater, nature-themed playground, splash pad, basketball and pickleball courts, walking paths, flushable restrooms, and expanded parking.
On Main Street, officials are working on streetscape improvements, including new trees, motorcycle parking, safer crosswalks, sidewalks, curbs, and other walkability upgrades.
“Brookville Borough is very excited to be awarded the 1.1 million dollar TASA grant,” Rooney said. “So we will be bringing in new sidewalks, crosswalks, curb cuts for the ADA accessibility, and just looking at how we can beautify Main Street in that small section.”
This grant will fund improvements from Diamond Alley to Pickering Street.
Other projects include a $64,000 dollar kayak launch upgrade with added parking, pavilions, and picnic areas, along with upgrades to Memorial Park and plans for a future sports complex.
While all projects are approved by the council, work is not expected to begin until at least 2027.
