Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates failed to move a runner past first base last night, and the Bucs lost for the 10th time in their past 13 games, 2-0 at Miami.

Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve were ripped 16-1 by Akron Tuesday evening. Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz played a rehab game for Altoona. He went 0-for-3 at the plate with a walk, and he took care of center field duties for eight innings. The Curve and Rubber Ducks meet again on PNG Field at 6 tonight.
College Football:
The start of the 2026 college football season is a little more than three weeks away. The opening night of the regular season game schedule will be Thursday, September 3rd when Clarion hosts West Virginia Wesleyan, and IUP plays at Ashland. Then on Saturday, September 5th, the Penn State Nittany Lions will host Marshall, and Miami of Ohio will play the Pitt Panthers at Acrusire Stadium.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Rainy and stormy weather one again forced practices indoors Tuesday for the Pittsburgh Steelers at their Training Camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. Tomorrow night, Pittsburgh will play its first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium. Thursday’s kickoff time in Pittsburgh is 7pm. Week two of the preseason schedule brings the New York Jets to Pittsburgh on Friday, August 21st.
