DUBOIS – Organizers of DuBois Community Days say strong community support means they didn’t need the city’s financial support for this year’s fireworks.
Co-chair Rick Sierzega says donations from local businesses and residents covered the $30,000 fireworks display, allowing the city to use that money elsewhere.
“I am happy to announce that thanks to the incredible generosity of local business sponsorships and local resident donations, that money will not be needed,” explained Sierzega.
Sierzega says the committee would like to be considered for city funding in 2027, in case fundraising falls short.
He’s also encouraging local nonprofits to sign up for a booth at next year’s event as a way to raise money for their organizations.
