ANITA – More information is available about the tornado that touched down just north of Anita Sunday evening.
According to the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Services, the tornado touched down around 4:45pm Sunday.
With wind speeds of 110 miles an hour, officials say a majority of the damage was done in wooded areas, uprooting trees and lifting them up to 30 feet in the air.
Currently the tornado is being classified as an EF1, however the rating may increase as damages are assessed.
