UNDATED – Pennsylvania could miss out on a major economic opportunity if it turns away AI data centers, according to State Representative Mike Armanini.
While energy concerns have been raised, Armanini notes that data centers often generate their own power and says these projects could bring jobs and tax revenue to communities across the state.
“In a way, this is like the next industrial revolution,” explained Armanini. “And I hate to see Pennsylvania lose out on that.“
He added that the key is to make sure they are developed responsibly while strengthening infrastructure.
