UNDATED – The House has passed a new bill that could impact farmers and rural communities
The Farm, Food and National Security Act of 2026 led by Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson extends key USDA programs through 2031, expands access to credit, strengthens crop insurance, and targets supply chain issues that are driving up costs.
It also invests in rural broadband and infrastructure , something that rural communities still lack.
This bill passed the house 224 to 200.
