PHILIPSBURG – One of Clearfield County’s Commissioners has announced his opposition to renewing the county’s contract with ICE.
In 2021, the county partnered with ICE to reopen the Moshannon Valley Processing Center to create hundreds of jobs and bring in more revenue.
Despite the initial support, Commissioner Dave Glass is now condemning ICE’s recent actions nationally, in what he says includes warrantless searches and illegal detainment of innocent people.
Glass says he pledges to vote no when it is time to renew contracts with ICE next year.
