BROOKVILLE – A California man is behind bars after allegedly traveling to Brookville to meet who he thought was a teenage girl for sex.
Police received messages between 32 year-old Jonathan Mendoza and the group 814 Pred Hunters disguised as a 15 year-old girl.
The messages allegedly showed Mendoza in contact with the minor since August 19th. Knowing the girl was underage, he allegedly made multiple sexual comments towards her.
They allegedly made plans to meet in Brookville where he was met by police instead. Mendoza was then taken to the Jefferson County Jail where he faces sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors, and indecent assault charges.
