DUBOIS – This Weekend you can enjoy a show jam packed with princess characters straying from the stigma surrounding them.
Disenchanted is a musical comedy flipping the script on classic fairy tales, challenging traditional gender roles.
“We have 10 storybook princesses, of the likes of Snow White, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, etcetera,“ explained Andy Benson with the Reitz Theater. “And they are not really happy with the way they’ve been portrayed throughout the years in mainstream media and other stories and films and whatnot. So they’ve got a bit of an attitude going on, and it’s rightfully so.”
Showtimes begin this Friday at 7pm. Showings will also be on the 12 and 13th at 7pm and 2pm respectively. The following week you can also watch Disenchanted on the 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7pm. You can find more information on the theater’s website
