Dorothy “Dotty” Ann Baker
1948-2026

Dorothy “Dotty” Ann Baker, 78, of Rossiter, passed away at home on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on April 17, 1948, a daughter of the late Charlie White and Viola (Roush) White.

She was the wife of Raymond R. “Butch”

Neal, Sr., who passed away from a car accident when her boys were young.  She later married Robert Dominick Baker, who loved her dearly.  He preceded her in death in 2021.

Dotty worked as a bartender at the Brandon Hotel in Rossiter for over forty years.  She could make anyone feel welcome the moment they walked through the door.  Beyond tending bar, she was a phenomenal cook.  Local pool leagues and countless others enjoyed Dotty’s cooking. Her cooking for others continued after her retirement, she lovingly cooked and sent meals to many neighbors that she cared about.

She was fun loving and enjoyed going shopping with her friends. Dotty was a lady who took great pride in her appearance and was always dressed to a T.  Her hair was always done, and her nails were beautifully manicured, it was not about vanity, but a reflection of the pride, dignity and self-respect she carried throughout her life.

Dotty was a member of the Rossiter and Glen Campbell American Legion’s and the F.O.E. post 1231 in Punxsutawney.

She is survived by three sons, Raymond “Butchie” (Billie Jo) Neal of Punxsutawney, Walter “Wally” (Chris Rothrock) Neal of Rossiter and Robert (Brandi) Neal of Rossiter; step daughter, Kristy (John) Briggs of Syracuse, New York; seven grandchildren, Torie (Paul) Neal, Maranda (Josh) Neal, Brycen (Emma) Neal, Makensey Neal, Brett Neal, Rhainnon Neal and Douglas Lucas; eight great grandchildren, Taven, Zailynn and Riven Neal, Landyn Martz, Trevor Bair, Cali States, Marnie Adamczyk, Emmie Briggs; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Baker; three brothers, Charlie “Brud” White, Mark Deyarmin, Arthur “Dee” Deyarmin; two sisters, Nancy Watson and Lori Shields; great grandson, Jesse Means Jr.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday.

Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Rossiter.
