Randy Paul Mennetti, 76, of Punxsutawney, passed away at home on June 9, 2026.
He was born in Punxsutawney on March 10, 1950, a son of the late Caesar Joseph Mennetti and Ramona Jean (Shick) Mennetti Strange. His stepfather was Jack Duane Strange.
He was a 1968 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Post 1231, Punxsutawney.
Following graduation Randy worked as a dedicated Zookeeper in St. Louis Missouri. He had a natural connection with animals and cared for them with patience and knowledge. He also loved bringing joy to others through music while working as a disc jockey. His love for animals and music reflected his unique spirit, and he was known for sharing stories, laughter and unforgettable experiences with those around him.
Randy had a daily ritual of a trip to Goodwill to browse the aisles in search of hidden treasures. As a practical joker, he enjoyed surprising his friends with his finds, he would often hide a treasure in their car, or tuck something away somewhere in their home that would later be discovered.
In addition to his dear friends, his greatest love was for his cats, Yoda, Old Man and Sissy. The cats were his companions and brought him great comfort.
He is survived by one brother, Larry (Marilyn) Mennetti of Michigan.
Preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Jack Duane Strange.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
