DUBOIS – Five firehouses have brought forward their recommendation to consolidate into one joint DuBois Fire Company.

According to DuBois Fire Chief, John Kelsey,  Adrian Sandy, Fourth Ward, Friendship, Goodwill, and West Sandy have all agreed to consolidate into one Volunteer Fire Company to cover services for the southern part of the new city.

This decision is believed by all the fire companies that due to their close proximity that the most efficient approach would be to consolidate into one company. In what Township Supervisor Bill Beers says is an amazing level of cooperation.

“Everybody had different opinions,” explained Beers. “But we all come to one common goal, and it’s for our new city. To be better, more efficient, and to help our community grow.”

In addition, the fire companies would like to construct a new facility to operate under a new name for the brand new consolidated City of DuBois.
