CLEARFIELD – A Karthaus man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a business to steal copper wire.
Just after 7am Friday, police were dispatched to a business in the area of S. R. 879 and Hotel Heights for a report of a man trespassing.
Once on scene police detained 47 year-old Jason Hoover. After investigation they determined that he allegedly entered the building to steal copper wire.
Police also discovered that his vehicle had several tools and other items suspected to be from past robberies.
He was then transported to the Clearfield County Jail where he faces burglary, attempted theft, and trespassing charges.
