UNDATED – A State Representative is introducing a bill that would allow the public to input their feedback for higher education changes.
The bill, sponsored by Charity Krupa, says that state institutions are publicly funded and have an obligation to serve everyone.
The bill will be split into three parts. The first ensures branch campuses cannot close without legislative oversight and public input. The second would make sure taxpayer’s money is used responsibly by institutions. And the third makes the campus’ assess the economic and workforce consequences before closing.
All of this is in response to Penn State University’s announcement that 12 branch campus’ could possibly close.
