DUBOIS – A building in downtown DuBois is seeking approval to be rezoned with plans to convert it into a pool hall and skill game center.
Dustin Quigley, who currently operates a skill game business at 12 East Long Avenue, is looking to transform 333 West Long Avenue into this new facility.
Mayor Pat Reasinger shared with us that there is not much the city can do to deter operations like this from setting up shop, however he said that state legislation is the key to change.
“We have been very specific,’ explained Mayor Reasinger. “If it’s not zoned, it can’t be there. If it is zoned they can be there, there is not a lot we can do. Maybe educate the public.”
In addition, lawmakers are also looking into 800 West Weber Avenue for religious related zoning changes.
Currently officials are gaging feedback and plan on taking action at next week’s Consolation meeting.
