DUBOIS – In an attempt to fight back against Skill Games in the City of DuBois, lawmakers have increased the amount it costs to operate machines within the municipality.
A proposal was passed to increase the licensing fee of the estimated 75 machines within the City of DuBois from $100 dollars to $500 dollars annually, in what Mayor Patrick Reasinger says is a push back against the blight of skill games.
“Hopefully it knocks the numbers down for everybody,“ explained Mayor Reasinger. “We have some that have a lot of machines in there. They’re 24 hours a day, and they’re not monitored, and the police are there all the time, it’s a nuisance.”
No answer was officially given when asked what the extra funds would be used on.
