SANDY TOWNSHIP – A bomb threat facing Eastern Avenue in Sandy Township will be locking the area down indefinitely.
Just after 8pm multiple Police Officers, Firefighters, EMS, and Bomb Squad members responded to an Eastern Avenue address for a reported bomb threat.
The suspect, later identified as 29 year-old Brandon Collins, who was accused of building homemade bombs Monday, was barricaded in his home claiming there were explosives inside.
After evacuating the neighborhood, authorities were then able to safely place Collins into custody.
Now, we are being told by Sandy Township Fire Chief Jason Runyon, that the street and surrounding homes will be closed indefinitely until proper crews can assess the extent of bomb threats.
This is an ongoing story and we will update you when more information becomes available.
