PUNXSUTAWNEY – A 34-year-old Jefferson County man is behind bars and charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly stabbed another man with a screwdriver.
According to court documents, Bradley Heitzenrater of Punxsutawney faces a pair of felony charges and four misdemeanors following the incident.
Punxsutawney Borough Police report that as Heitzenrater argued with a man in a North Jefferson Street apartment, he grabbed a screwdriver and stabbed the victim in the shoulder and chest. When Heitzenrater was arrested a short time later, he allegedly told police that he wanted to kill the victim, but he “would never actually kill anyone.”
Following his arraignment, Heitzenrater was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $20,000.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 16th.
