CLEARFIELD – A 31-year-old Clearfield County man who fought with probation officers and sheriff’s deputies has been sentenced to a two-to-five year state prison term.
According to court documents, Joseph Oswalt of Philipsburg pleaded guilty Monday to charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest. In November, Oswalt tried to leave the Clearfield County probation office before sheriff deputies arrived to arrest him on an active warrant. Oswalt reportedly fought with the deputies, had to be restrained, carried outside, and then he continued to resist and fight with law enforcement officials at the Clearfield County Jail.
Also on Monday, Oswalt was sentenced to an additional six month to two year prison term for violating probation on a prior charge of trademark counterfeiting.
