CLEARFIELD – A 22-year-old Jefferson County man will serve up to five years in state prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
During sentencing court earlier this week, Hunter Vroman of Punxsutawney pleaded guilty to sexual and indecent assault, corruption of minors, and resisting arrest. Originally, Vroman was also charged with rape for the incident at a Clearfield residence in June.
Investigators say the 15-year-old victim admitted that she drank a lot of alcohol, but that sex with him was not consensual.
In addition to the nine-month to five-year prison sentence, Vroman must also complete sex offender counseling, and he must register with authorities under Megan’s Law.
Two other people related to the Vroman case will be facing criminal charges in court. According to court documents, 22-year-old Randi Bambarger of Clearfield and 20-year-old Craig Marshall of Reynoldsville have both been charged with corruption of minors. Bambarger is also accused of furnishing alcohol to minors.
