DUBOIS – Steps toward a 2026 consolidation are continuing for the City of DuBois and Sandy Township.

At Wednesday’s Joint Board public meeting a plan was laid out to address four main issues in 2024 – the merging and alignment of an accounting system, establishment of an organizational chart, use of facilities for the consolidated municipalities, and where staff offices will be located.

The DuBois/Sandy Joint Board will be meeting the third Wednesday of each month at the City Building.

Action was taken to disband the original Nine-member Consolidation Committee and its subcommittees. The Joint Board may appoint subcommittees moving forward if required for specific tasks.
