DUBOIS – DuBois City taxpayers will no longer provide health insurance coverage for elected officials.

At Monday’s DuBois City Council meeting, those healthcare coverage policies were terminated by a unanimous vote, with one abstention.

Mayor Pat Reasinger said the elimination of healthcare benefits for elected officials will save the city approximately $60,000 annually.

An update was provided on council’s efforts to officially terminate suspended City Manager Herm Suplizio’s employment. A representative from the interim City Solicitor’s office said it’s a process that takes time, and that research continues into how it can properly take place.
