CLEARFIELD – It’s a longstanding tradition that the board chairman of the Clearfield County Commissioners is a member of the majority party. But that tradition has been abandoned this year as DuBois Democrat Dave Glass was chosen to serve as chairman of the board of commissioners at Tuesday’s reorganizational meeting. The vote approving Glass as chairman was unanimous, and newly-elected commissioner Tim Winters was picked for the position of vice chair.
Other business was conducted at this week’s meeting including the award of $26,000 in American Rescue Plan funds to Penn Township to help with a local project, and the approval of nearly $236,000 in payments as Clearfield County’s share to the Central Counties Youth Center.
