BROOKVILLE – The Brookville High School held its annual “Wheelers and Dealers” event on Thursday to allow students to learn the principles of economics and marketing. The community
attended with the largest turnout to date, and fundraised nearly $2,000.
Economics teacher, Nancee Miles, gave students a hands-on experience to express their creativity and enhance their economic skills. High school students crafted products to sell to the
elementary school students, and the community, using Wheelers and Dealers money. “Some kids used items at the school, and some didn’t, it all depended on how they marketed their
product,” says Miles.
Students utilized the media-maker space at school, which contains a 3-D printer, and the art room. They created anything from stickers to finger snowboards. The best-selling product was
the radar sports cards that included pictures of athletes in the Brookville area.
Miles teamed up with Allegheny College to sponsor the event, and the Brookville Chamber of Commerce to promote throughout the area.
