CLEARFIELD – A Curwensville man will serve up to one year in the county jail after pleading guilty to assault and reckless endangerment.

According to court documents, 23-year-old Mason Guelich was originally accused of punching and stomping the victim during a fight over an alleged sexual assault a year ago. Witnesses reported that the victim confronted Guelich at a camp in Pike Township, Clearfield County. Following an argument, Guelich allegedly punched the other man in the face and then stomped on his head while he was on the ground.

The victim suffered a concussion, a deep cut requiring staples, and a broken temple bone.

In addition to the four month to one year jail sentence, Guelich was also given three and a-half years of probation at this week’s sentencing.
