BROOKVILLE— A 29-year-old Jefferson County man is facing felony strangulation charges for his alleged part in a domestic altercation that he phoned in to police.
According to court documents, Tyler Voit of Brookville called the State Police to report a fight in progress at an Egypt Road residence. When troopers arrived at the scene, the female victim was gone. She was found later in Reynoldsville, and a number of injuries to her head, face, and neck were observed. The victim told police that Voit hit her multiple times and choked her.
Voit was sent to the Jefferson County Jail after he was arraigned on strangulation, simple assault, and harassment charges.
Voit was released from jail last Wednesday when a $10,000 bail bond was posted.
A preliminary hearing on Voit’s case is scheduled for this week.
