CLEARFIELD – Disagreement over insurance claims and forensic audits caused tempers to flare at this week’s Lawrence Township’s board of supervisors’ meeting.
Judy Duncan confirmed her acceptance of the township auditor position for next year, and that an audit meeting will be scheduled in January. Duncan also reported that she has received calls from township residents who are concerned for Bailey Flanagan, the out-going Lawrence Township secretary-treasurer. Two township supervisors allegedly gave Flanagan a hard time regarding forensic audit subject matter, causing her to leave the township building in tears. As Duncan tried to comment about how the supervisors treated Flanagan, she was promptly cut off by Supervisor Jeremy Ruffner.
Later in the meeting, the Lawrence Township Roadmaster Jim King remarked that Ruffner was “a joke,” and accused him of “ruining everybody’s reputation over an audit.”
