Curwensville, PA – A scam artist convinced a gas station employee to send money to them, pretending to be a family member of the owner.
Someone contacted the Fuel On gas station in Curwensville on March 6.
They told the victim, a 36-year-old man working at the store, that they were a family member of the gas station’s owner.
The employee was convinced to to place $3,447.03 into a BitStop kiosk and send it to an unknown address.
The investigation is ongoing.
