CLEARFIELD COUNTY – Clearfield County Commissioners have declared May as Mental Health and Stigma Awareness Month, spotlighting something that affects you, your friends, and your family daily.

It comes as community efforts like “Kick the Stigma” continue to grow across the region, pushing for more open conversations about mental health and easier access to help close to home.

Organizers hope to break down the silence with youth participants stressing that you are not alone.

You are not alone and it’s okay to ask for help and also if you don’t even know like what to say to somebody if they do come to you just be there for them and listen to them because you could be a safe place for them and they might not have anybody else,“ explained one student.

The message this month is to look out for one another, speak up sooner, and remember that help is always available in your own community.
