DUBOIS – Kris Kruzelak, the current Police Chief for Sandy Township has been named Chief for both DuBois and the Township.

Kruzelak is taking over for Interim Chief Shawn McCleary, who became Chief when former Chief Blaine Clark was placed on administrative leave in March of 2024.

We spoke with Kruzelak on his thoughts moving forward as Chief.

“Both the Township and City have excellent officers,“ explained Chief Kruzelak. “And a Chief of Police is only as good as his officers, both departments have a lot of good officers. So, we’re expecting big things.”

This is one step closer towards a consolidated Police Department with lawmakers planning to tackle a mutual aid agreement in the near future.
