DUBOIS – A proposal to turn the former Temple Sons of Israel building on West Weber Avenue in DuBois into a warming shelter and community resource center is on hold.
Giving Hope withdrew their conditional use application during a public hearing Wednesday, saying they want to gather additional information before reapplying.
“We are formally withdrawing our application for zoning until further date once we collect all the information that the Zoning Board required us to collect, and we review it with them,” one representative told council.
The withdrawal came before public comment, even though several residents attended to oppose the request and a petition was submitted. Giving Hope say they plan to file a new application at a later date.
