HOUTZDALE – A former employee at a SCI Houtzdale will spend up to two years in county jail after plotting to smuggle drugs into the facility.

25 year-old Jacob Cartwright was facing several charges after a confidential source exposed messages between Cartwright and inmates planning to smuggle in drugs in May.

After pleading guilty to criminal attempt/contraband, criminal use of a communication facility and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance he was sentenced to spend between six months and two years in county jail with five years of concurrent probation.
