RURAL VALLEY – One man is facing murder charges after the body of a missing Rural Valley man was found.
According to State Police, 56 year-old David Kimberly was reported missing on September 28th, Kimberly’s wife told police that he left on September 23rd after she asked for a divorce.
On October 12th police discovered Kimberly’s van in a wooded area near his residence, concealed to blend in.
During investigation, police say that 33 year old Cody Weiland had confessed to authorities that he shot Kimberly at a Reefer Hollow Road residence, he then allegedly moved the body to where police later found it.
Weiland is now being held in Armstrong County Jail facing multiple charges including homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
Details are still vague as the investigation continues.
