Bodies of Strattanville crash victims, missing Clarion U student found

Clarion County, PA – While searching for a Clarion University student, police unfortunately not only found his body but also the bodies of a Strattanville couple who were involved in a fatal car crash over the weekend.

State Police in Clarion and other investigators had been searching on Saturday evening for 21-year-old James Whitman, a Clarion University student originally from Florida, who had been reported as missing early Saturday morning.

While searching for Whitman, investigators also found the bodies of 78-year-old Samuel Paine and 80-year-old Lucille Paine.

They were found near Bigley Road and Toby Creek Bridge in Highland Township.

They also found the body of Whitman approximately 100 feet above the Toby Creek Bridge on Bigley Road.

Details are limited at this time.

Police say they do not believe the two incidents are related.
